Standard SaaS subscription = a record in our database. If we get hacked, our subscriber list leaks. If we go offline, you lose access. If you want to gift access to a colleague, you can't — the record is bound to your email.
Pro tier on Unity RWA Hub is different. Your subscription is a Daml-native composable asset on Canton mainnet. Selective disclosure: only you and we see it. Composability: you can transfer it to another wallet — gift it, resell it. On-chain auth: connect your Canton wallet, server checks the asset, you're in. No password to lose.
Generic NFT-as-subscription products exist on public chains. Canton-Daml-native subscription with selective disclosure + multi-party signature support + CC payment alignment does not — yet. We're building it.
Phase 2b status — checkout is partially scaffolded. Real CC payment, real Daml issuance, and real wallet partner integration land after Canton Featured App approval (estimated Q3-Q4 2026). The /pro/checkout page is functional for design-review demos today; live payment flow ships with Featured App rollout.
